A friend has told you that you simply must watch the Beyond the Mask DVD so you hit the Internet to get a copy. The problem is that you’ll find more than one movie with a similar title, so now you aren’t sure which he meant. The good news is that they all are pretty good movies, so having them all in your movie collection isn’t a bad idea, and with Internet prices you won’t break the bank doing it.
The oldest version close to that name was in 1999. Behind the Mask with Donald Sutherland and Matthew Fox is based on a true story of an overworked clinic director and thus an absent father to his son. He gets a rude awakening in the form of a heart attack and so begins the journey to regain what he lost.
In 2007 the same similar title was used for a completely different genre of movie. The Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon is an R-rated horror movie in which a good-natured killing machine invites a documentary film crew to follow him as he meticulously plots his upcoming slaughter spree. Not your usual horror movie, and that’s what makes it interesting.
The most recent version in 2015 does have the exact title. It is a faith-based movie that is also a rousing piece of entertainment that anyone would enjoy watching. It is about an assassin for the East India Trading Company that decides to resign, but his former employer doesn’t take it very well. With the action of being on the run, and falling for a beautiful lady, this movie has a Pirates of the Caribbean feel that the entire family will enjoy.
Once you have watched all three you can go back to your friend and thank them for suggesting the Beyond the Mask DVD to you, and perhaps even lend all three to them so they can experience the other two as well.
